Pediatric Neurologist

Dr. Chaaban is enthusiastic about joining New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute at the new location in Hamilton, New Jersey. She will be seeing patients in the office and telehealth visits are available. Dr. Chaaban is a board certified pediatric neurologist with training speciality in epilepsy. She is an active member of the Child Neurology Society, American Academy of Neurology, and American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Chaaban attended William Paterson College for her undergraduate degree in Biology. During her time in college, Dr. Chaaban realized the path to medicine, in particular, pediatrics neurology, helped mesh the aspects of working with children and the intrigue of science and medicine. Her prior experience as a young child attending to her family's medical appointments as translator also reinforced the importance of communication of medical information between the physician and families. Dr. Chaaban's journey continued with her medical education at American University of the Caribbean. After her graduation, Dr. Chaaban completed her pediatric residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, previously University Hospital of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Chaaban continued for an additional year as pediatric chief at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Chaaban continued at Rutgers for additional three years for the pediatric neurology fellowship. After graduation, Dr. Chaaban relocated to Children's Hospital of Oakland in California as part of the attending pediatric neurology faculty. Dr. Chaaban's interest with Epilepsy led her to the decision to pursue an additional year of clinical epilepsy fellowship at Yale-New Haven.

December 2011, Dr. Chaaban joined the pediatric neurology faculty at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She received recognition for Excellence in Residency Teaching for Subspeciality Pediatrics given by the Saint Peter's Pediatric Residency Program. August 2018, Dr. Chaaban joined the pediatric neurology faculty at Hackensack Meridian Health at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was practicing in a hospital based program and in a private solo practice at Hudson Pediatric Neurology Center in Hoboken, New Jersey. Dr. Chaaban’s transition to shift her career to New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute provides comprehensive care that include neurosurgeons, therapists, nutritionists, neuromuscular and developmental specialists.
